Our premarital counseling services offer a holistic, affordable approach to relationship readiness and marital bliss. Led by ordained ministers, counselors and certified life coaches, our counseling team offers both a male and female perspective, ensuring a well-rounded and inclusive experience. We provide standalone premarital counseling, comprehensive counseling and officiating services, or individual counseling tailored to meet the unique needs of each couple. Our counselors bring a wealth of experience, offering guidance on communication, intimacy, family integration, conflict resolution, and shared values to ensure couples embark on their marital journey with confidence and understanding. 

What is the cost?
We offer premarital counseling at affordable rates ($10 - $50 per session), making services easily accessible to communities across the Mid-South. Need-based scholarships are available. 

In addition to premarital counseling sessions, we offer affordable extended couples counseling to support couples well beyond state requirements. Schedule a free consultation. 

Are sessions in-person or virtual?
Sessions are virtual. Appointment times/dates are flexible to accommodate client's schedule. In-person sessions may be requested at least 2 weeks in advance and are held at our administrative offices.

Do I have to be affiliated with a church to book?
No. Roots and Wells welcomes committed couples  looking to strengthen their relationship regardless of church affiliation.  While church affiliation is not a prerequisite, we've observed that couples often experience greater success in their journey when there's a shared positive moral compass. Our counseling services embrace diversity, respecting individual beliefs, yet we acknowledge the enriching impact of a common ethical foundation on the path to a resilient and harmonious marriage. 

 Do we have to be engaged?

We warmly welcome couples who are not yet engaged but are moving towards the prospect of marriage in the future. Our premarital counseling services are designed to support and guide couples at various stages of their journey towards a strong and fulfilling marital union. 

What can I hope to happen during the sessions?
Clients can expect a personalized and insightful journey towards a thriving marital union. Our experienced counselors provide a safe and open space for couples to explore essential aspects of their relationship, addressing topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and shared values. Through a blend of constructive dialogue, practical exercises, and a balanced male and female perspective, clients gain valuable insights, developing a deeper understanding of each other. Our goal is to empower couples with the tools and insights necessary to build a strong foundation for a lasting and fulfilling marriage. 

Do you offer officiating/wedding services?

Yes. We offer Justice of the Peace Style wedding ceremonies. For clients that have completed pre-marital counseling with us, a low-cost officiating ceremony can be scheduled for $200. The cost is $300 for couples that have not completed pre-marital counseling with us. 

What comes with the officiating service?

Officiating services include use of church, an ordained minister performing the marriage ceremony, signing the marriage certificate, a standard digital photograph, and an optional champagne toast. Ceremonies are limited to one (1) witness and four (4) additional guests. Ceremonies typically take about 20 minutes. We currently do not offer reception services. 

What services are available after the wedding?

Our commitment to supporting couples extends beyond the wedding day. We invite couples to continue their journey with us through post-wedding couples counseling, ensuring ongoing support as they navigate the joys and challenges of marriage. Additionally, couples are encouraged to become a member to join us for engaging and fun events, such as couples game nights and retreats.
